This site features a portion of the photographic work of Edward Fausty. However, since there is no way in electronic media to convey the look and feel of the actual print, the artist encourages those who are curious to contact him about coming to the studio and looking at the work first hand.

Many artists and art venues pride themselves on how courageously and totally they break with the past, and they are indeed courageous in some instances. However, Edward Fausty is reluctant to do so. Our traditions, rich with memory and associations, sometimes are the best conveyors of reverence and depth of feeling.

It is for this reason that Fausty continues to use for his personal work the plain rag art papers (such as Arches Cover and Rives BFK) mouldmade the same way for 300+ years. These papers absorb ink rather than keeping it on the surface as coated papers do. This allows the fibers visibility within the image. The print acquires a luminosity and magic because of this subtle interaction of ink and paper.
